In March of 2013 we discovered the kitchen sewer drain had been punctured and was leaking under the house. After contacting our insurance company the least expensive and least obtrusive solution was to reroute the pipe outside the house, through our family room and connect to main in the front yard garden. We hired Techton Construction to handle the pipe investigation and work with our insurance company to create the best strategy. As a general contractor, it was easy to work with Techton Construction when we decided to include a roof raise and family room remodel (440 Sq. ft.) as a result of mold in the ceiling. Techton Construction hired sub-contractors, for example, to handle the mold investigation and then performed the mold removal. They helped obtain plumbing and building permits on our behalf. The quality of their work is excellent, they are professionals and know their craft. Because we were living in the home during construction they worked with our schedules. One thing we liked about dealing with a smaller company was that we had the ability to change the scope of work when unforeseen things changed the project without huge change order fees. Because our home is 50+ years old we are used to surprises on our property, but it’s nice not to have surprises from your contractor. Techton Construction gave us the kitchen of our dreams. Chris Longwell is creative, innovative, and 100% great customer service. From the beginning he was professional and knowledgeable about what could and could not be done with our kitchen remodel. Being our first ever major remodel, Chris walked us through the process and ensured our project was done to our standard. He went above and beyond to take our ideas from paper and making them a reality. He put together a great team of subs but also finished a lot of the work himself. Plumbing, electrical, water proofing, fireplace remodel....whatever we could throw at him, he was able to do it. When our plumbing backed up in the middle of the night and threatened to ruin our newly installed kitchen cabinets, Chris came over right away to help pull the cabinets and clean up the mess. We were so thankful! He also waterproofed our floors when he realized we had a leakage problem in the back corner of our house. He came up with a lighting plan for our home that completely brightened the space. He communicated with us on every task to be sure it was exactly what we wanted. When the kitchen was finally finished, we were floored by the beauty and efficiency of the space. Every time we have guests come over they always compliment our kitchen. We would recommend Techton construction for any construction project!
